Metal Fab & Welding

This 220-hour introductory course is designed to equip students with the skills needed for entry-level positions as welders. Participants will receive training in essential areas such as basic shop safety, tool usage, and the operation of welders. They will learn to perform basic lap joints and filet welding while also identifying different metals. The curriculum covers key concepts related to welding and fabrication processes, emphasizing the techniques used to join materials—primarily metals or thermoplastics—by applying high heat to melt the parts together.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will engage in hands-on assessments and visual inspections to solidify their learning. This practical experience ensures that they are well-prepared for real-world applications in the welding industry.
